Yeah. I’ll say it.

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
Not even a mouse.

Well. The mouse was stirring. He was stirring together sugar, and eggs, and cream, and flour. Making cookies. Those really good kind, that are shaped in balls, and have powdered sugar all over them.

Sure enough. If I had a pet mouse, I am pretty sure we would do things together, like making cookies on Christmas Eve. Me. And the mouse.

I’d put him in my pocket. Polly’s pocket.
But that way, I could walk around and say, “Well, gosh yes. Me and the mouse in my pocket.”

Just like now. When I come to those big trays, with all the cheese, and veggies, and dips. I say, “Well gosh yeah. Polly wants a cracker.”

I say a lot of things. When I am with my stirring mouse.

Like.

“Gosh yes. Have a very, merry Christmas.”
