Spell it out for me.

I read about all religions.  It interests me to learn about the various ways that people worship God, or the Higher Power,  Creator of the Universe, Yahweh, Allah, Jehovah, The Eternal Now, Mother Universe, Shiva, The Infinite, and… oh the list goes on with another 100 names.  I would be remiss, if I did not mention the people who believe there is no God at all.

Back to it.  I like to learn about these.  A good movie for me, was The Life of Pi.  The antagonist in the film, Piscine Molitor “Pi” Patel, is an Indian boy.  He explores issues of spirituality and practicality….  at an early age.

The story goes that… he is on a ship… and the dang thing wrecks.  [Sidebar.] When you are in the middle of the ocean…. where there is water… and then more water…. how does a ship wreck into anything?   It is not like there’s a lot of traffic out there… or buildings… bends in the road?    I know some ships run into rocks when they get near land.  Sure.  But in the deep blue?   That is some poor driving…. I’ll tell you.

Anyway.  He is in a shipwreck.  Ka Bang.  And… he gets stranded on a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.  For 227 days.

But before that….  before the boat ride…. … the kid is raised as a Hindu who practices vegetarianism. In his teens…. he investigates Christianity and Islam.

Wisely…. I think…. he decides to become an adherent of all three religions.  This does NOT make his parents very happy.  But Pi says he “just wants to love God.” He tries to understand God through the lens of each religion, and comes to recognize benefits in each one.  While he is on the raft, these ideals come to his surface.

So, like Pi, I try to figure out the really good principles  from different religions.  I like to seek ways  which are positive paths to connecting to the Life Energy.   They all have so many merits. Such similarities in the approach.

Then, putting all religion aside.  There are times when it seems like someone is trying to tell you something.  Coincidences. Serendipity.  Fortuity, providence…  the… “Oh my gosh. Can YOU believe THAT just happened?”  Yes.  It is like the Universe opens up and sends you a message.

Which brings me to this.

You all know, I like to watch the Wheel.  It brings me great joy to solve the puzzles before the Jacks on the screen.  Oh….  like “Follow the Yellow Brick Road”  and “Strawberry Cheesecake” and such.  You just never know what you are going to get on the Wheel.  Besides Pat and Vanna.  They are steady.

But tonight, was Epic.  I’m not kidding you about this.  The contestants were Jesus, Mary, and …. well…… Christine.

I am not sure if this was some kind of clever handiwork of the Producers.  Or if it was some sort of Divine Game Show Clue Intervention.   But either way, it was catchy.

Christine won the whole deal.  And the kicker?  Her husband’s name was Joe.

I’m not sure what it means…  …. it SEEMS like someone is trying to spell it out for me….
“Pat. I’d like to buy an … Oh.”
