Which way. That way.

Some people have different challenges in life.

One that comes to mind. There are some of us, who struggle with left and right. I don’t do this so much anymore. Okay. Truthfully, I do. Especially, when someone is facing me, and I am asked to decipher THEIR left from their right. It is nearly impossible at first.

Have you ever seen a scene from a Gilligan’s Island episode, where they build a robot, and something goes terribly wrong in the wiring, and the thing starts smoking from the ear sockets, and then it starts spinning around in the sand, and suddenly the robot topples right into the cover and sinks out of sight.

That’s my brain, with the whole left and right thing.

I’ve met others who are this way. Or perhaps they are directionally challenged, as am I. Left, right. This way, that.

You know, I have never met anyone who cannot tell the difference between up and down. I wonder why we don’t know left and right, but we sure can figure up and down. How is this?

Wouldn’t it be bad if we really didn’t know up and down? Again, an example from the movies or TV. Let’s say you are chasing a bad guy, and running after him like crazy. Suddenly, he spins around, and starts firing a semi-automatic weapon, which should be outlawed on all accounts. But he has one. He bought it legally at the Gun and Knife Show last year in Huntsville, Alabama. They call it Huntsville for a darn-good-reason. Anyway. There he is with his menacing gun. He is firing at you and all the other police officers in the show. And someone yells… “Hey, get down!” Welllll….. youuuuuu. With your inability to tell the difference between up and down, leap way high up in the air, repeatedly, while everyone is crazily yelling… “Get down. Get down.”

And you are like. “I am getting down. I am.” And then your character on the show…. well. Let’s just say you’ll be looking for a new TV-Drama-Series next season.

Yeah. People know up and down. I think. If we fell into a big hole, like a deep well, we’d figure it out.

Yet. Sometimes. It can all be pretty confusing, I would suppose.

There are different versions of Left and Right. Like in the world of politics. And then the words themselves are edgy. She left town. Was it right or wrong? What goes up must come down. Now she is a little down in the mouth. But, things are on the up and up.

It is a wonder that any of us can get out of bed in the morning, at this rate.

But we do. And we do, because we want to make the world a better place. Most of us, I believe, would like to make this place better. Each day, we have to look at our own challenges, and decide what to do with them. Are we seeing them as insurmountable obstacles? Or do we view them as a way to learn something new?

Sometimes, it is difficult to know which way to go. But we all do try.

Well. I may not know my left from right.
But if I ever fell into a WELL, I would say….
“Deep down, I think things are looking up.”
