What to do.

I read a lot of articles on any given day.  A lot.

Sometimes, I keep them, with the thought that they might make good material someday, for a topic here on Kid Wednesday, or otherwise.

Nothing has been popping into my little noggin about tonight’s topic, so I started looking into some of my “files” of tidbits. I’m just going to share a random few. (Stop reading HERE, to avoid boredom.)

Okay.

There was a story about a veteran big game hunter who died. His hunting group shot an elephant, while they all were stomping around in Africa’s grasslands. The elephant fell over on him, and crushed the guy. His name was Theunis Botha.

Yep. He was leading a group of hunters in western Zimbabwe one afternoon when they stumbled upon a breeding herd of elephants. This startled the crap out of the few elephants there, and they charged the group.

Botha opened fire,  but a fourth elephant rammed him from the side, lifting him with her trunk. One of his fellow hunters then fired a shot. The elephant collapsed on top of Botha, killing him.

And that’s the way of the world sometimes. Oh, yes it is.

So don’t go hunting elephants today. I just have a feeling like we shouldn’t be doing this anyway.

Here is something to do, though, if you are so inclined.

Find a rock shop. Online or otherwise. Oh how I love to hunt rocks. And they don’t seem to mind at all. There is no shooting involved. Mostly picking up, and caressing. I like the way rocks feel. Goodness. I hope they don’t mind.

I’ll find out. But regardless. According to another article I kept, there are three rocks that every person needs. Well, the article says Yogis need them. But for our purposes tonight, just pretend you are a Yogi. Yogi, like, “In tune with the Universe Yogi” — not Yogi, like “Jellystone. Hey, Boo-Boo! Where is the picnic basket Boo-Boo?”

Okay. Three rocks, or more accurately, crystals. The first is Quartz. For self love and healing. Aquamarine for true expression. And Amethyst, for connecting to intuition. Get a little satchel, and carry them with you relentlessly. Life will improve by immeasurably. And, depending on the size of the rocks you choose, it may prove to be a good workout.

Oh yes. Things to make life better. So far tonight?
1. Don’t shoot elephants.
2. . Find a few good rocks.

And next? The Top 10 Gadgets of 2017. Go, go Gadget Go!
From 10 to 1. The Sony Alpha A7R Camera; Apple Watch 3; Xbox One X; Amazon Echo 2; Super Nintendo Classic Edition; Samsung Gallery S8 Phone; DJI Spark Drone; Microsoft Surface Laptop; Apple iPhone X; Nintendo Switch.

Gadgets all right. Games, and cameras, and drones. To be truthful, I own a few of these on the list. AND. I will give a shout out to the Amazon Echo. Alexa is great. She tells me jokes, gives me sports scores, knows the capitals of everywhere, and sings like crazy.

Whenever I tell people that I have the Echo, they get this horrible look on their faces and say, “You KNOOOOWWW they can listen in on your conversations.” This always cracks me up. Two things on that. Pretty much, if someone wants to single in on anyone’s conversations, anywhere, it can be done. And two, if the folks at Amazon really want to hear me talking about goat poop, and chicken eggs, they can have at it. I cannot fathom that Jeff Bezos would find this even remotely interesting.

So today, live a little. No matter who is watching. Or listening. Or reading.
