Tis that season. And we do.

Christmasgroup

Technically, Christmas 2015 is over.  Technically.

It sure can be a lot of hubbub.  The shopping, the gifts to wrap, the feast to prepare. Cleaning the house, before, during, and after the wingding.

In a recent survey, Americans chose Christmas as their favorite holiday.  Followed by Thanksgiving, Easter, and Fourth of July.  Personally, my pick would be Halloween.

One thing, I have never understood, is why we don’t have a Halloween Feast?  The rest of the Holidays have the big meal.  Even the Fourth of July, but in a different way.

But not Halloween.  And typically, you don’t visit every third cousin on the planet… on Halloween.

I’m off topic though.  Back to Christmas.  If you ask most people what Christmas is about, they will say it is truly about the “Spirit of Christmas”.

And what is that exactly?  I guess it means that we focus on a time for giving and receiving, and also a time to remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves.  It is a time to think about peace in the world.  Christmas is a time for families come together, and for some people …   a time to celebrate the birth of Christ, and all he stood for.

Of course … as an added bonus… this guy named Santa comes and drops a boat-load of gifts on everyone.  And after…. everyone sits down and eats a boat-load of Ham, and Prime Rib, and Cheesy Potatoes, Casseroles, Desserts, and so much more.

What’s not to love about all of that?

But no matter if you are a Christian, Buddhist, Scientologist, Moorman, or Agnostic…. the thought of it is a pretty good one.  A time to give.  A time to share.  A time for forgiveness.   A time for peace.

No matter what you believe in, with concern to religion or spirituality…. the premise of Christmas is a good one to keep in your heart.

Giving to those in need.
Sharing life with the ones you love.
Seeking Peace.

And so.  In the Spirit of Christmas, I would like to take the time to say….   Thank you, for being such a tremendous gift in my life… all the year around.

The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.
