This time, I mean it.

Well.  You know me.  I am the inquisitive sort. I like to look around, and learn, and find out.  Discover.  I’m not adventurous.  Just curious.

Take for instance.  The other night, I stayed up ALL night to see where the sun went.  Then it dawned on me.

So.  The next morning was another learning experience.   As it happened…. the weather turned dense.  Foggy.
I tried to catch some fog.  Ahhh…. but I mist.

Okay… okay.  I’ll get serious here.  Like I said… you know me.  But dang it.  You know how I love a good pun.  There are a gazillion of them out… told and untold.

Speaking of which.  I once did a theatrical performance all about puns.  It was a play on words.

Alright.  Enough.  Time for serious writing … or something.

The news.  I watched the news tonight.  That is pretty serious. They did a segment about women in the workplace with PMS, and how it affects productivity of the entire office.  One of the news reporters made a joke, of some tasteless sort.

So I called the station right up, and said… “PMS jokes are not funny. Period.”

Okay.  I’ll stop.

Here are some other things I’ve been thinking about lately.

My Dad used to say… “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”  This is a good one to live by…. in most cases.  However….  if at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you.

This time I mean it.  No more jerking around.
That last statement about trying, (all jokes aside) is very true.  That is the way of the world a lot of times.  No guarantees.  No pass cards.  What may work for one person, might fail miserably with the next.

We try to learn from what we do.  I think that is true of most of us.  Good judgment comes from bad experience.  However, a lot of those bad experiences are the result of bad judgement in the first place.   Yes.  It all goes round and round.

I’ve been mostly goofy tonight, but sometimes it is best to look at the lighter side of things.  It is good for us mentally, physically and spiritually.  There is an awful lot going on in the world which is extremely troubling.  Five minutes with a newspaper will give you cause to wonder.   But if you can take a breath, relax, and look to the the lighter side… it makes things a little easier, I think.

If nothing else, DO remember this.

It’s always darkest before dawn. So if you’re going to steal your neighbor’s newspaper, that’s the time to do it.
