The thing of it.

Everybody has a something. It is true.

Every person you came in to contact with today, has something in their life which is troubling them. Or worrisome.  Somehow, or in someway.

I’d would pretty much bank on this to be true.

Unless, of course, you were hanging with the Dalai Lama today.

For the rest of us, we have not yet reached that state of ultimate enlightenment. I am not even sure if DalaiLam has either, quite frankly.  We humans are imperfections.  We have struggles, and strife, troubles and worry.

We long for happiness, and love.  We search for it. We ask for it.

Sometimes, we look in the wrong places.  Yet….

In our life paths, we grow, and learn, and figure things out.  We find the way of love and happiness and contentment.  If we are blessed, or lucky.  However you wish to say it.

But even when we have found that place of peace and goodness, we still have the “thing” that comes along, and reminds us that we are human, in this human state of being.

So when we go about on our way, from hour to hour, we should remember that everyone has a thing.  And that is where kindness, patience, compassion and love come in.

Yes, the lady at the grocery blocked the whole third aisle while she decided on which box of Corn Bread Mix to buy.  And the guy at the bank pulled out right in front of you.  In a freaking Cadillac XTS.   Joe, at work, took credit for your good idea.  And Senator Clumphunger commented on something which really ticks you off.

But they all have a thing right now.  Whatever it is.   I could do better at “giving this over” than what I do.  I have a friend who called this “offering grace” and that is a great thing to do.  Grace can mean a lot of different things, but I am guessing, in this case, it means to offer a blessing.

So yes, I think it might be an amazing thing if everyone could offer blessings, and goodness, to those who have rubbed us the wrong way, or harmed us, or have shown ill-intent.

I can only see that offering goodness in this situation can make things better, more whole, closer to peace.

I offer grace to all of you tonight.  And peace.
