St. What Day.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you. Well, in reverse.

I guess St. Patrick’s Day would be yesterday for you. But it is today for me because I write this late at night.

It is kind of like Time Traveling, isn’t it?  That whole thing about time can be a little tricky sometimes, don’t you think?  What’s tomorrow for me is now today for you.  At least right here.

Oh but Loopy Me.  I digress once again. I am the queen of digression: déjà vu déjà vu déjà vu.

I started this whole thing by wanting to talk about St. Patrick’s Day. So back to the topic.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you. Luck of the Irish, and all of that. As you well know, Kronenberger is not Irish. Never has been, never will be.  I have friends named Islamosky.  They aren’t any where near Irish either.

The closest thing I come to Green, are my practices for the environment. But here we are.   A day devoted to Saint Patrick. But is it really? Or is it just a big excuse to party and act like you are Irish?  Oh what the heck. Have some potato and cabbage stew. That’ll do you.

Now if it were up to me….  and I were picking a Saint Holiday…. I think it could possibly be Saint Christopher.  He’s pretty good.  The Patron Saint of Traveling.  Also toothaches.  So.  If you got a toothache while you are in Topeka, you are set with St. Chris.

Or…. What about St. Anthony of Padau.  He is the Patron Saint of Lost Articles.  And you know… the older we get… the more stuff “we lose.”  I think I am going to get all my friends St. Tony medals.  Some more than others.

St. Justin.  Hi Justin.  Patron Saint of Philosophers.  Good for all of us.
Now here is a good one.  Saint Cecilia. I like her because my middle name is Cecile….. which is pretty close.  And she is the Patron Saint of all things Musical.  Sing it loud. Sing it proud CeCe.

Saint Aloysius Gonzaga.  Happy St. Aloysius Gonzaga Day.  Seems only fitting.  He is the Patron Saint of Young People. Young Students.  And since the NCAA Basketball Tourney just started… and Gonzaga always gets in these days…   YEP!  Three-pointer for me!

But seriously.  If I had to pick, it would most definitely be  St. Francis of Assisi. I think he might be my favorite saint… by far. You know…. the way he always had little Bluebirds on his shoulder, and fluffy squirrels scampering around his feet.  Bunnies too.  Oh, but the truth of it is… he was a man of Peace.    He emulated peace.  Exuded it.  Practice it.  He was Peace and he tried to show us how to be Peace.  It is what we need most right now… more than anything.  Peace.  And Bluebirds on our shoulders.

So.  March 18th. Happy St. Frank’s Day.  May peace be with you.  And also with you.

Make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
