Sit down a minute

I saw a Pablo Picasso quote tonight. It really struck me. “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

Yep. That’s it, I think. Exactly.

Everyone has their own unique gift. Their very distinct thing, whatever it may be. Painting like Picasso. Writing like Dostoevsky. Singing like Aretha.

And then we have TV.

There are a gazillion shows on TV. Besides the news, and some sports, I don’t really watch any of the current shows on prime time or otherwise. We mostly “stream” things of the past, at this point. For the most part, too, it feels like we acclimate toward shows which come to us from across the pond.

I was just hearing on the news recently about a bunch of shows being canceled this year. Kevin Can Wait. Scorpion. Lucifer. Quantico. Taken. Superior Donuts. And a whole lot more have gotten the ax, according to the article. I’ve never seen a single one.

Most of the shows are winding down for the season now anyway. The big Summer break, and then they start back up in the Fall.

Which brings me to this. I’ve been writing this situation comedy called Kid Wednesday for a little while now. It might be time for the season finale. You know, a little break in the action.

If something really strikes me, I am sure I will write about this or that. I can hardly help myself sometimes, that way.

So. Yes. A little breather here. I have some things I need to learn, and some new mad skills I want to try out. I think I need to find my gift, like Pablo said.

And just remember. You can always watch the reruns. There are almost ten years of episodes online at http://www.kidwednesday.com

If you get the itch.

And if not, I’ll see you around.
