No ifs, ands, or buts…

As most days goes, this was a busy one. But a little busier than normal.

There is a lot of routine in my life.  In fact, most of my days… pretty much run along the same lines.  But this one… …was all over the place.  In a good way.

I should have know it would run this way.  You see, this morning at 6 a.m., I made the very important and ernest decision to change my profile picture on Facebook.  So.  It was like I was “asking for it” somehow.

From that point on, things were different.  It is like the clock of the universe saw that as a glitch… and things started ticking differently.  The Zuckerberg Effect, or something.

But back to the profile photo.  The one I switched.

That’s me alright, with one of our goats.  Her name is Georgia.

Now, for me, the jury is still out on us having procured a small herd of goats.  However, of the five we acquired, Georgia is my favorite.   The other “grown” goat is also a girl.  Her name is Gracie.

My take on it… is this.  Gracie is sort of the alpha goat. Bossy.  Pushy.  Rude.   But Georgia, is a sweet little gal.  She seems like a kind and caring goat.

Gracie is the mother of the three kids.  But it seems to me, that Georgia does more of the mothering.  Hey!  It just hit me!  We have a goat family with two Moms. How apropos.

At any rate, I just feel that  I can talk with Georgia.  She and I just sort of pal around when I am out there.  It is like she gets “it” somehow.

So.  There it is.   This is beyond goats.   We feel more “at home” with certain people in our lives too.  At least, this is true for me.  You know it when it happens.  When you meet someone, who is truly in your sphere, you just know it. Things seem easy with them.  You can talk about anything.  Being with them  feels comfortable.  It is a nice place to be.  There is understanding, and kindness.

This is incredible to me.

I have just a handful of these people in my life.  I spent the better part of yesterday, and today, with two of them.  And that was a very good thing.

And tonight, I am tired beyond words tonight.  Part of it might have been due to sitting in traffic for two hours on our way back from Cincinnati.  Nonetheless, a very good day all and all.

So whether it is goats, or people, or dogs, or trees, I propose, there are certain spaces where we are meant to be.  And when we find them, it is a good and wonderful thing.

I kid you not.
