Naturally. There.

Nature is good for us.

At this juncture in history, humans spend a lot of time indoors. We get busy with our lives, our jobs, or homes, our cars. And of course, in our land of the Buckeye…. the winter months make it a little more difficult to linger outdoors.

But I think nature is good for us. The trees, flowers, vegetation…. the grass, and everything green. Well, almost everything green. And don’t forget the water. Wonderful… wonderful …..water.

Call it Planet E. Mother Earth. Gaia. Spending time with our feet touching the ground…. allows us to connect with nature. It affords us the privilege of interacting with other living beings. All sorts.

Segue: Yesterday we clearly established that many of us do not wish to commune with ALL living beings. Namely snakes. I’ll try to understand that. But snakes get a bad rap. I think it started with the gig back at the Garden of Eden. Since then, their popularity has been on a sliding decline.

Back to it. Getting our butts outdoors, also known as being at one with nature.  A very good thing.   Here is a great comparison to illustrate my point. You Mothers out there are nurturing. Bless you for that. In the same way, being with Mother nature can be very nurturing too. There is something very comforting about a quiet walk through the woodiness. Woodiness like trees…. and not the cowboy from Toy Story Woody-ness.

When I am out in the quiet music of nature, I love to listen to the song. The breeze rusting the leaves on trees, the birds singing and chattering, the buzz of insects, and the hush of the clouds. It gives me tingles right up my very spine. But most of all, I am reminded that we human beings are one very small form of life in this jumbo and giant universe. We are one part of the big picture.

It just feels good, to take the time to breathe it all in. It nourishes the soul and the spirit. Most of all, it makes us feel connected to the all of it…. and reminds us that we are never alone. Yes, spending time in nature puts us closer to our divinity.  So, hopefully, the all of us can take a chance to visit the great outdoors today, and soak it all in.

One more thing.  Eating crunchy Cheetos, drinking beer, and catching a documentary on Netflix ABOUT nature ….. does not count.
