Look once. See twice.

We can’t say the letter “M” without touching our lips together. Try it. Much like licking one’s elbow, it can’t be done. If you are working on putting tongue to elbow right now, I completely understand. Emmmmm.

Sneezing with our eyes open is impossible too. Just trust me on this one.

We are limited, I suppose. They say that nothing is impossible, but that is a misnomer. There are all sorts of things which can’t be done.

Running a two-minute mile.
Flying by our own volition.
World peace.

Some things seem like they would be impossible. Newly born babies. Of any kind. I know it is the most “natural” thing in the world, but it is more-than-slightly remarkable. The entire growing and hatching process. A little seed-pod flourishing inside the mother. Spawned from her and the owner of the sperm. And suddenly, there it is. A little slobbering entity. Seems highly unlikely, but it happens all the time.

Or what about caterpillars? That process seems a little impossible. The transformation into a butterfly. Here is the thing. Do they know? Prior to going in to the cocoon, do they know how they will come out on the other side? Or do they just mindlessly start spinning that cocoon around themselves, thinking, “What in the holy hell am I doing now?”

Along those lines. Did we know?

Life is possible, all the time. More often than not, it is probable. But there are things, and moments, and places, which simply are out of our reach. At least in the physical, conscious world.

There are dreams to consider. That thing our minds do when we are in a different state of consciousness. Some people argue that we have our “realities” switched. That our true actuality occurs on the subconscious level. That what we “imagine” is our ultimate existence. They say that is how the great thinkers, like Einstein and the like, form their extraordinary postulations. It is something to be considered, nonetheless.

Last night, I had an incredible dream.
I was licking my elbow. And then I said “M” with my mouth open.

Twice.

They may say I’m a Dreamer. But I’m not the only one.
