Just right.

I am not sure quite how to describe this. But here it is.

We all have our ideas. Most certainly we do. About everything. We think. We are humans. That is what we do.

We all have our ideas about how life should be. How we should act. What is right, and what is wrong. Some of us adhere to certain standards. A set of directives. A moral code. And still further, sometimes we belong to an organization which promotes this order and these commands. Religions. Groups. Sects. Practices. Or maybe a HodgePodge of Beliefs, or even Freelance.

Some of us try to share those ideas with others. We think we can help others by doing so. And so we do.  Like moths to a flame.

But what I am thinking about, is how we go about it.

And the picture that keeps coming back to my mind, is a little lone flower in the dirt. It needs nutrients to grow. And the light from the sun. And water. So along comes a variety of gardeners with a water hose in hand.

We are those gardeners. We have the water hose.

The first guy puts it on rapid-fire-super-blaster. He tells the flower he is going to give him lots of water and the flower should take this water and grow. Now! The spray beats the holy-heck out of the delicate flower, and before you know the thing is drowning in the mud.

New flower. New guy. And he comes along with his hose. He has it set to the finest misty, misty, misty spray, and he stands about 20 feet back. He doesn’t say a word. The flower notices there might be water coming its way, but it is not enough. The flower thirsts for more.

Another new flower. And then the next guy. He sets the hose to gentle rain. He stands just the right distance away, and he gives the flower the needed drink. He whispers, “I love you flower. I truly do.” Quietly, he turns off the water and makes a vow to return to this charge, every day.

This time the flower gets it. And grows.

That is us. And those are our ideas. And that is the only way I can think to describe it.
