I saw the sign.

signingnnnn

I don’t much feel like writing tonight.  I guess this happens mostly when I am feeling despondent about something.  I probably should keep my nose out of the news for a while.

But to offer a bit of a news update… I will give you the results  for the Presidential Election outcome in Preble County… a very short breakdown.  The Republican winner in this county was Donald Trump with 5,019 votes.

The Democratic winner here was Hilary Clinton, at 1,176 votes.

Okay.  That’s my news for you.

So.

What to write about tonight?

How about signs?
We all see signs don’t we?  Of course.  They are out front of businesses, and restaurants, and homes.  Everywhere.  Traffic signs.  Informational signs. Political signs.

There are people in this world who make them. Companies, businesses… who do nothing but create signs.  Yes, you can pick up the phone, right now, and call these people.  You just tell them you need to put a sign somewhere, and they will make it for you.

Sign Makers.

Today I saw some people working on a sign outside of the business. That would be kind of a cool job I think. Making and fixing signs.  Think of the possibilities.

But what about other matters.  Some of us think we see signs in life. The metaphorical type.   Now wouldn’t it be cool….., or may be there even is……, “The Unseen Sign Company.”

They’re like angels or faeries, or little trolls or something. No matter…. whoever they are.  Their only job is to go around and create signs for life.

Maybe there is a big boss of everything… and BigBossOfEverything sees what is going on in the Universe.  You know…. something in particular is happening, and BigBossOfEverything wants to send an instructional sign to little human Joe Shmoe.   So the Unseen Sign Company is called in to give the humans a good one.

And up it pops.  Right in the middle of the day.  And you think to yourself… “Hey.  That might be some kind of sign.”

Like… the blender quits working.  Or a frog drops out of the sky.  Or a dog howls in the distance.  Or maybe your Aunt Myrtle shows up on your doorstep with a Ouija Board or a cheese grater.

And somewhere off in the other dimension, the Unseen Sign Company Team is jumping up and down, with their little faerie wings flapping up and down…. and they frolic about…., giving each other chest butts, and high fives.

Yep.  That might be how it works.  I don’t know for sure.
But the next time I think I see a sign… I’m going to thank the Sign Makers for putting it there. And the BigBossOfEverything.

“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.”  —   Martin Luther King, Jr.
