My gratitude list could go on for as many minutes as there are in a day. I could just keep naming one thing after the next, those things that I am thankful to have, or have known, in my life.

In every breath, there is a new thing to be thankful for. Life is filled with gifts. Some we view as great and others small, but nonetheless, they are ever present. Those presents.

Yes, I decided I better write out my life inventory of all things “good and wonderful” again today. Because, I began writing about how sad I am that we are losing our birds on this planet. Three billion of them in the not-so-very-long ago. (Today’s article covers all the particulars, in case you haven’t heard. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/09/19/3-billion-fewer-birds-north-america-now-than-1970/2365747001/ )

Humans are to blame, once again. We are taking away their habitats. Their homes. We move in, and they have to move out. I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but we have to stop beating up the planet. And so now, we’ve gone and lost three billion birds.

When I heard this, my heart sunk to a very, very low. I wanted to say the “F” word, and stomp around my office, and cry it out loud. It makes me mad. Sad. Then, I was going to write about our President, and the miserable job he is doing when it comes to our planet, and other things. He said it best. He could shoot someone in the middle of Times Square and people would still laud him. I don’t get this at all. How people can like what he’s doing. He’s killing all sorts of beings with every stroke of his Presidential pen. He’s delivered one crushing blow after the next to the protection of our land, our water, and all the beings we share it with. If you are a fan of his, I ask you, invite you, to explain this to me.

I’ve decided that nothing is going to stop him except for the vote in 2020. He is the closest thing to a dictator that this country has ever known. Until then.
