Getting out of the Nursery

I’m thinking if I had to hang with any of the Nursery Rhymes, it would most likely be one of the Mice. For a lot of decisive factors.

By reason of deduction, it would definitely NOT be with Little Miss Muffet. Hell no. First, she just sits around on her tuffet. Which, by the way, is just a foot stool. But that would not have worked in the rhyming verse. Unless we changed her name. Little Miss Fool, sat on her stool….

But she is eating curds and whey. I know. It is like cottage cheese… which I like… but if you are easily scared by spiders… you should eat something with a little more moxy. Like pepperoni pizza. At any rate, she is out. On all counts.

And then there is Jack Horner. Slightly better, but not by much. A little on the narcissistic side…. proclaiming his good boy-ness. But his food choice is on the up. I am a big fan of the plum.

The Little Teapot? Since I am not crazy about tea, this has its setbacks. I’ll drink it, but not willingly. But the teapot itself… is a little boring… just tipping over as it names its own body parts.
Scratch.

No, I think it would be any of the mice. The Hickory Dickory Mice seem pretty fun. Scurry up and down the clock as they do. It would be great exercise… we’d always know the time… and we could play on the pendulum in the main case. After working up a big appetite, we could swing by Georgie Porgies, for some Puddin’ Pie.

But I think the big winner might be the Three Blind Mice. Again, runners. But at a severe disadvantage because of no sight. However, if I were with them, we would run like the dickens… in the right direction. It would be sort of like a thrill seek… dodging the farmer’s wife… the one with the butcher’s knife.

Which… begs the question… if she is the Farmer’s wife…. why do you think she has the Butcher’s knife? I think there is something going on there. So… we might work in a little extortion on the side.

Yep… I’d hang with the Mice.
