Bristle, Best

Well, I’m a little on the downside for a lot of reasons today.  Little things which have added up.

Comparatively, to other people’s woes, mine are few.  Teensy.

But nonetheless, my hairs are bristled.  You know, like when you stub your toe.  It is going to be no big deal.  At all.  But while you are jumping around the kitchen, one-footed, and it hurts like bejeebers to kingdom come… .. well… it just feels like that big toe is going to come right off your foot.

Oh.  I’m just bristled at best.

But.  There is a best thing to do, when things get a little wappy-jawed.

Start counting.  Not from 1 to 10… like people do when they are angry.  No.  I start counting my blessings.

A friend just posted an article on the downside of calling them “blessings.”  So maybe I should call them gifts.  Or good fortunes.  Or things to be to be thankful for.

Regardless of what they are called …. I have a ton of them.

So tonight I am grateful.  For my loved ones… my circle of friends, and family, and dogs.  For home, and health, and heart.  For nature, and life, and breath.  For food, and hot showers. For computers and cars.  For finger-painting, rock-skipping, and bird-watching.  For dancing and singing.  For love, and joy, and hope.

I am thankful, once again, for you.  Truly.  For you.
