Blue Skies. Smiling at me…

Rain. When you are in drought like conditions, you sure do miss it. Thankfully today we are getting a lot of rain. It is lovely to see this work of nature. Everything already looks a little greener, a little happier, a little healthier.

Rain seems to be a popular topic throughout history. And for good reason. Cultures live and die by it. People have always relied on the rain. And as such, it gets its fair amount of press. And entertainment. However you want to look at it.

People have written songs about it, pomes about it, entire novels about it. Rain, rain, go away.  Come again another day. The itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.  Down came the rain, and washed the spider out. Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.   I can’t stand the rain, on my window.  I’m singing in the rain.

And so it goes on and on and on. Mostly because… raindrops keep falling on my head.

But it isn’t necessarily all fun and games. Rain can cause devastation.  Destruction  Death.  Take for instance, the people in Louisiana right now  They are under water right now, due to torrential rains and flooding.  So, they are not so  crazy about it right now.  Again, for good reason.  In their case, I hope it quits raining soon.

Truthfully.  I  love the rain. I for one I’m glad it’s here.

And if you tire of it, this too shall pass.  Behind all of those dark, thick, gray rain clouds, the sun is still shining as brightly as ever.  It is simply obscured from our view.

Another great life analogy, when you think of it.  We have times that are gray, and slow, and dreary.  Sad.  But it passes. It changes.  Those clouds get a move on, and the sun comes back in to view.  The warm and glowing sun.  Things seem bright again.

So, it is good to remember.  That luminous part of our lives is always there for us too.  It simply has to wait, sometimes, until the clouds can pass.
