Being and Doing

One of the things that I am frequently thinking about is the purpose. The purpose of our meaning. Our being. Us Human Beings.

It makes me ponder. Question.

For a very long time now, I have recognized that we are called “Human Beings.” We are not known as “Human-Do-Nothings” – although I have met a few. Human Beings. We Be. We Do. We Are.

And, to fulfill that name tag, we are supposed to grow. Learn. Shift and move. Change and evolve. Grow. Our hearts and our minds. It isn’t always easy, but at the very least, I think we should try.

So just maybe.

Notice some things today.
And let them help you grow.
If you take your shoes off, and there is some really soft carpet under your feet, notice how good it feels.
If you are lucky enough to have a nice cat, and she is sitting on your lap because she likes you, notice that too.
If someone gives you a present, accept the joy and appreciate the gift.
If a person does something to make you laugh, do it freely.
If you have a snuggly warm blanket, be thankful for the warmth, and snuggle on in.
If you are in the middle of a good book, enjoy every little word, even if it is “this” and “that”
If your shoelaces come undone, be glad you can tie them.
Yes, these are some things.
And.
If you have the chance to do something hard, because it will help, I hope you have the strength to do it.
If you get what you deserve, I hope it is always good and lovely.
If someone loves you, give them the very best and most noble reasons for doing so.

We are Human Beings.
Today, just BE.
