I believe we are not alone. Here in this Universe.
Set aside the ever-controversial topic of a Higher Power. I am not talking about this.
I suggest that there are “others” out in the grand and infinite Universe, living in organized civilizations, using high levels of reason and perception, most likely, far greater than our own.
I also suggest that we humans have yet to understand the time continuum. Einstein was probably getting close. But the rest of us, not so much.
First the matter of other beings. I don’t think they have societies and cultures like we do on earth. No green men or women, pushing down their Pop-Tarts in the morning, before hopping in their Space-Rods to go off to work — at the accounting department at SkyAliens, Inc. They don’t have 2.5 wide-eyed children who play Little League baseball down at Orbital Field on Thursday nights. No Sunday get-togethers at the Chrome Abode, as they watch ProGreenFootball, and eat Supreme Pizzas and wear their favorite player’s jerseys. No. None of that. I purport an existence entirely different from our understanding. Awareness. Light. Being.
Of course, it is all speculation. We can neither prove, nor disprove, any of this.
But then there is the matter of time. Again, a concept we humans have invented for our own means of measurement. But our “version” of time is based on our own planet, and it’s cadences.
The rest of the Universe cares nothing about our devices.
This morning, I read an article regarding the Hubble Space Telescope. The latest image has been emerging for close to two centuries. There is a star system out there, called the Eta Carinae, which is 7500 light-years away from earth. There was a super big explosion in that system. Huge. But. BUT. It happened in 1838, and the Hubble is just now capturing the images and aftermath of the explosion. An amazing light show with incredible images. It will be done when the systems blows itself up into a supernova, creating a beautiful explosion, which isn’t going to reach our eyes for another 7,500 years.
There are a lot of very smart astronomers recording all of this. And by earthly standards, their work is brilliant. But we aren’t really getting the bigger picture, I don’t think. The actual “workings” and potential time-overlapping ,and of teleportation.
I think the Teletubbies were on to something. In fact, Tinky Winky might have the secret in that little red purse he always carries.
The point is, we live in a very big space, where time moves in equations which are unknown to us. If we ever figure that out, we might have a chance. Otherwise, we are just another species, bobbing along temporarily, on a dying planet. We haven’t always been here in this form. And we won’t be here, like this, in the future either.
So today there is this. Push down that Pop-Tart like it is the best one you’ve ever eaten in your entire life. Be that awesome number-crunching accountant. Be excellent at watching your kids play ball. Wear your favorite jerseys, and, most of all, marvel at your wonderful self.
Because right at this moment, YOU are the best YOU, in this entire Universe. You are simply amazing.
Work it baby. Work it.
