A job to do.

Let’s talk about our preferred occupations.  Yes, the things in the world we are best suited for.  They say there are seven of them for each individual.

Although, instead…. we could be talking about Nostradamus, the French Astrologer and Prophet.  Today is his birthday.  He was born in 1503… a long dang time ago.

Nostradamus was a reputed seer… and as such… he published collections of prophecies that have since become famous worldwide.

He is best known for his book Les Propheties, the first edition of which appeared in 1555.  He was constantly preoccupied by the things that he “saw” coming around the bend.

Rostra-Man has become pretty popular.  Since the publication of this book… which hardly ever goes out of print since his death…. he has gathered quite a few followers.  And those folks credit him with predicting many major world events.

Like.. this sort of thing. Here is his
prediction:
“The blood of the just will be lacking in London,
Burnt up in the fire of ’66:
The ancient Lady will topple from her high place,
Many of the same sect will be killed.”
and then what people equated with this…..
On Sept. 2, 1666, a small fire in Thomas Farriner’s bakery on Pudding Lane in London turned into a three-day blaze that consumed the city. It became known as the Great Fire of London.
Peasant deaths weren’t recorded at the time, but many historians claims that many people died in the blaze.

There are many more predictions… as we all have heard. Like Hitler’s Reign, JFK’s Assassination, and 9/11.

I guess it is up to you to decide for yourself, but I think this guy had some inside information.  A BIG Preview.

But back to the topic.  In a minute. Because there is one more thing I just thought of.

I could have talked about the Saint of the Day… St. Martha.  She was the sister to Lazarus and Mary.  I think she was a bit of a Worry Monger, and she was also obsessed with cleaning and such.   OCD way back then.   In fact, she was upset with her sister with not helping around the house, when Jesus and all the disciples were there.  She thought Mary should have been pitching in with the cooking and cleaning.  Martha even asked Jesus to give Mary a talking-to.  But Jesus said, “Sit on down Marty, and listen to what I am saying.  Leave the dishes in the sink ’til later.”  My guess is, she was too preoccupied with getting the place all squeaky clean.   But she must have done a bunch of things right, in her own way.  Martha IS the Saint of the Day today after all…. right here on Nostradamus’ birthday.

Back to the subject at hand. Professions.  Seven of them.

Except for that now it is getting late, and I’ve gone on long enough, it would appear.  I’m not sure that those two subjects have anything in common.  It’s just that I got preoccupied.  Which seems to be the theme for the night.

So until later, just keep on doing what it is that makes you, you. Just like Nostradamus and Martha did.  Just be you.  And the world will be a better place for it.  That is my prediction.  No matter what our profession is.
