Twas, Easter, Me Thinks….

Twas the night before Easter and all through the house.
Not a chicken was stirring, not even a grouse.

There were rumors afloat… ’bout a Big Easter Bunny.
Those chickens were serious.  They did not find it funny.

And all of a sudden, they heard a huge “thunk!”
What was all that racket? It smells like a skunk.

When what to their wondering eyes did a appear?
A Big Fatty Bunny. Buck teeth and big ears.

And he laughed and he bellowed, “I bring mighty EGGS.”
The chickens just clucked, “With those hairy legs?”

That rabbit did hop, and he scampered about.
He did a big spin, and said with a shout…

“Happy Easter to All. I will bring Candy too.”
And out from behind him, came chocolate doo-doos.

“Not that’s really something.” The chickens did say.
“Big, hard, brown eggs, are all that we lay”

And just like that he winked and he twirled.
Happy Easter to All… up the chimney he swirled.

The chickens stood still. They were awe struck for sure.
So they ate all the chocolates which were covered with fur.

It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. —  Audre Lorde
